What Fitrah is
Fitrah is a character-first matchmaking platform for Muslims seeking marriage. We match on who someone actually is — their deen, values, communication style, and life vision — not on a photo. No photos required upfront, no swiping, and your wali and family are welcome in the process.
It's a third way between swipe-based apps that reduce people to a picture and a traditional matchmaking culture that struggles to reach a diaspora spread thin across the world. You can start today with the free, two-minute Fitrah Type quiz — no sign-up, no photos.
Who builds Fitrah
Fitrah is built and operated by Badir Studio Ltd, an independent, Muslim-owned studio based in New Zealand. We are not affiliated with any foreign dating conglomerate, and we are not VC-backed.
The platform is built by a cybersecurity professional, with privacy and safety designed in from the start rather than bolted on afterwards. Your data is protected under New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020 — never sold, never shared with Match Group, and never used for advertising. Why we're building it
Too many good people — with strong deen — are worn down by apps that reward looks over character, and by a matchmaking culture that hasn't caught up with a community scattered across the world. Marriage is half of our deen; the way we find it shouldn't feel like a slot machine.
So we're building Fitrah character-first — for the community, and accountable to it. The founding pool is step one: the first members set the tone for who this is for, and help decide which region opens next. We'd rather build this with you than for you.
Where Fitrah is today
Fitrah is in its founding-pool phase, and it opens region by region as each area reaches enough profiles for genuine matches. New Zealand is open first, with Australia, the United Kingdom, and other regions following as their communities fill.
